Asthma Treatment Measures
Medication Management in Persons with Asthma (Displayed as: Medication Management: Asthma)
The percentage of members 5 years of age or older during the measurement year who were identified as having persistent asthma and were dispensed appropriate medications that they remained on during the treatment period. Two rates are reported:
1. The percentage of members who remained on an asthma controller medication for at least 50% of their treatment period.
2. The percentage of members who remained on an asthma controller medication for at least 75% of their treatment period.

The percentage of patients with asthma who were dispensed more than 3 canisters of a short-acting beta2 agonist inhaler during the same 90-day period.
Medication Therapy for Persons with Asthma - Absence of Controller Therapy
The percentage of patients with asthma during the measurement period who were dispensed more than 3 canisters of short acting beta2 agonist inhalers over a 90-day period and who
did not receive controller therapy during the same 90-day period.
